Alphonse S. Basel, 97, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away August 4, 2018.  Beloved husband of Martha, nee Juszczak; loving father of Marcia Miller and Sandra (the late Gary) Burzawa; cherished papa of Alyse Burzawa and Lisa (Tom) Sears; dearest great papa of Alex, Matt and Nick Sears; fond brother of Alice (the late Lee) Hilfman and the late Van (the late Ollie) Basel and Irene (the late Joe) Smith.  Visitation Saturday, August 11th 9 a.m. until time of prayer service at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago.  Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
