Chaudhary "Amir" Akbar, 81 of Chicago, passed away peacefully March 2nd, surrounded by his loving family.

Amir was a big Bears and Bulls fan, Chicago through and through. When there were no sports on tv he looked forward to playing with his grandkids at the park or watching their little league games.

He was a dedicated banker by trade, and worked for over 40 years downtown taking great pride in his work.

Amir is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, of 51 years; his son Tim (Lucy), daughter Amira "Amy" (Joe), five grandkids; Alyssa, Adrian, Joshua, Nicholas, and Karina; brothers Tariq and Kabir, and many other family members both here and in Pakistan.

Memorial service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, visitation from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago. Private interment in Pakistan.
