Donald A. Vlcek, 93, passed away at home on September 25, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann, whom he thought of with love and longing for the twenty-five years since her passing. Adored father of Linda (Lou) Skibicki, Lori Majewski, Donald (the late Andrea) and Kathleen (Michael) Creighton. Cherished grandfather of twelve and treasured great-grandfather of twelve. He was loved and cared for by many more and will be deeply missed by his dear friends and all of his extended family.

He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In his retirement he became an usher for the Chicago Cubs for over twenty years and was overjoyed to see them win the World Series in 2016. He was a compassionate and generous man who was an eternal optimist unlike any other.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 9am-11:30am at Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N Austin Ave, Chicago IL 60630. A funeral service will take place at 11:30. Interment to follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles IL 60714.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to The American Breast Cancer Foundation or the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs .
