On January 31, 2026, we lost our father, Earl "Pat" Sheppard. Not only did we lose a wonderful father, this country lost a great patriot who believed "Made in the USA" was the only way to go. Pat was born to George Sheppard and Etta Cox, of Chicago, IL on January 21, 1929. Yes, he enjoyed celebrating his 97th birthday! Chicago was his home until shortly after his wife's death in 1933 when he moved to Florida.
After serving overseas in Korea, Pat married his sweetheart, Ann Marie Lally, on Septermber 30, 1950. Together they raised three children: Susan (Galen) Doody; son, Kevin, and daughter Ellen (John) Cantu. Pat's entire career was with the United Parcel Service.
Second to his love of family, was his love for cars, all cars, but primarily, an AC enthusiast. His pride was displayed in his Javelin, Gremlin and two 1967 Ambassadors. True to his south side Chicago roots, he was a die-hard White Sox fan. He attended many of their games with his brother Tim and together are remembered by Legacy bricks at White Sox Park.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; son, Kevin; parents, George and Etta; and siblings Gertrude, John, George, William, Joseph, Thomas, Eileen, LeRoy, and Loretta.
Per his wishes, services were held privately. Inurnment to be held Friday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m., St. Joseph Cemetery, 3100 Thatcher Ave. River Grove, IL 60171.
When remembering Pat, lift up your glass and throw one back!
