Elisabeth Polheber, 88, loving wife for over 63 years to the late Frank Polheber; devoted mother of Heidi (Robert) Presslak, and Diane (Gary) Dettloff; cherished Oma of Michael (Amanda) Dettloff, Kevin Dettloff, Amanda (Theodore) Leonas, and Michelle Presslak; Great-Oma of Meredith Dettloff and Addison Dettloff; adored daughter of the late Johann and the late Elisabeth Pape; dearest sister of the late Johann Pape; beloved sister-in-law of the late Josef (the late Anna) Polheber, John (the late Maria) Polheber, the late Stephanie (the late Harold) Bojes, the late Leo Polheber, the late Rudolph (the late Beatrice) Polheber; and dear aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.
Elisabeth passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She found great joy in baking for her family, friends, and neighbors, and her homemade chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake became cherished favorites that will be fondly remembered by all. Elisabeth also had a gift for crocheting, lovingly creating lap blankets for the homebound as a heartfelt expression of her compassion for others. She delighted in welcoming family and friends into her home, especially during the holidays, where her warmth, and hospitality created lasting memories. A deeply devoted Catholic, Elisabeth's faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the love, grace, and selflessness she shared with everyone around her. Elisabeth leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith, she will be missed by many.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to time of Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine, with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
