IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James W.
Slusarczyk
May 18, 1954 – October 9, 2024
James (Jim) Walter Slusarczyk, 70, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on October 9th, 2024 at home after a battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 18th, 1954, the son of Walter Slusarczyk and Stella Slusarczyk (Sawchuk). He is survived by his sisters Nancy (Ronald) Swieca and Patricia (Edward) Kuzniarowicz.
Jim married Linda (Hebson) Slusarczyk 34 years ago. Their love and happiness was evident. His family was his entire world. He leaves behind two children, Jennifer (Michael) Huempfner and Kathleen Slusarczyk, and one grandchild, Amelia Lin Huempfner.
He dedicated over 30 years working in receiving for Cardinal Health.
He had a passion for golf and nature, which luckily he could pair both as he admired the deepest of trees on the golf course. Despite this, he still reached his dream of becoming a Waubee Lake Open Champion. He made others laugh everywhere he went. He had plenty of jokes and a manifesto for all he did, although the manifesto itself was often a joke. Jim was kind, generous, and always had a fun filled spirit, making him an excellent Santa at family holiday parties. He fought tirelessly until the end and proved he was the toughest around.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society ( CLICK HERE TO DONATE ONLINE ) or The Waubee Lake Association.
Family, friends, and all those that touched Jim's life are invited to the services. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20th from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Lawrence Funeral Home (4800 N Austin, Chicago, Illinois).
