Joseph F. DuLong "Fred",  son of Catherine and Joseph DuLong, beloved husband of Helen Marie DuLong(nee Kalodimos); world's greatest father of Nancy (Norm) Gassman, Joey (Janet), Cathy (Scott) Dilny and Eddie; fun and creative grandpa of Gus Nordgren, Steve Dilny, Kevin Dilny, Peter Dilny, Danny Dilny and Danielle DuLong; sweet and gentle great-grandpa of Jonathan Nordgren, Macie Nordgren and Mackenzie Nordgren. Fred was born in Michigan's Upper Penninsula in a town called Hubbell. He was born on Jan. 23, 1933 and passed on June 20, 2012. Fred served in the Korean War as a mechanic. He married Helen Marie in 1956. Fred cherished his log cabin, his tractors and the serenity of his 40 acres in the Upper Penninsula. Fred enjoyed seeing his wife, children and grandchildren experiencing the country life that was so important to him. Visitation Friday, June 22, from 4 to 9 pm, Funeral Prayers Saturday, 9:30 am at Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
