Lieselotte Krell

Lieselotte Krell nee Waldmann, age 86, passed away peacefully at the Rainbow Hospice Ark on April 4, 2026 after a brief illness. She is survived by her six children; Cornelius (Kathy), Andreas (Diane), Ulrich (Beatrix), Susanne (John), Christina (Adam), and Markus (Robina). As well as her grandchildren; Ben (Amy), Philipp, Cody, Austin, Lukas, Zoe, Jason, and Johnny. She also had two great grandchildren; Riley and Roman. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilhelm, her parents Philipp and Mina, and her brother Philipp.

Born in Alzey, Germany in 1939 to Philipp and Mina Waldmann, Lieselotte grew up in post war Germany and married Wilhelm Krell (also of Alzey) in 1961. Together they had six children and moved to the United States in 1977. Lieselotte, while strict and direct at times, will be remembered for her kindness and her sense of humor. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were a constant source of joy and pride. She also enjoyed watching soccer, hockey, tennis, and her various German tv stations.

Funeral services will be held pm Wednesday, April 8th, 2025 at St. Constance Church at 5843 W Strong St, Chicago, IL 60630. 

Interment to follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be send to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Lieselotte's memory.
