Mensur Seferovic was born on November 25, 1925 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina to Alija and Fatima Seferovic. He served as a colonel in the former Yugoslav army, WW2 veteran, survived the concentration camp in Italy, and was a renowned writer. He has authored twenty-four highly acclaimed non-fiction documentary books. He was also an advocate for world peace and a true humanitarian in every sense. He was a man of great intellect who was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and compassionate spirit. He went on to marry Sefika Omanovic, and together they raised daughters, Selena and Sanja, and a son, Vanja.
He is survived by his sibling Nijaz Seferovic; his three children, Selena Seferovic, Sanja Seferovic Drnovsek and Vanja Seferovic; his two grandchildren, Demijan Drnovsek and Emin Seferovic Drnovsek; and his great grandchildren, Elaine and Vincent Drnovsek.
The funeral service is restricted only for the family. It will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home located at 4800 North Austin in Chicago at 11:00 A.M.
