Walter Friese, 83, loving husband of 61 years to Barbara; devoted father of Edward (Mary) Friese, Diane (Jay) Fischer, and Christine Friese; cherished grandpa of Nathan, Zachary, and Meagan Friese, and Drew, Troy, and Toby Fischer; beloved brother of Darlene Friese, the late Norman Friese, and the late Carol Friese; devoted son of the late Walter Sr. and the late Augustine; treasured uncle, cousin, and in-law to many.
Wally spent his 45+ year career working for the C&NW and Union Pacific Railways.  In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Wally was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed biking, bowling, his Softball Breakfast Group, and watching Chicago sports.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2023 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral prayers Monday, July 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. from Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago, IL to St. Robert Bellarmine Church for 12:30 funeral service. Interment will be private.
